Top Five Tips to Get Started With a Cannabis Routine that Works for You in 2023
If you're like every person at the start of 2023, you had a slew of resolutions or intentions you set for yourself. The Today Show put together 35 ideas for you that you can stick to in 2023, one of which is to create a self-care menu. And what does that mean when it comes to Moodporium? When I hear the phrase self-care, what comes to mind is feeling like I have more energy, sleeping well, managing stress, and laughing more. If any of those resonate with you at the beginning of this year, I have some tips to help you achieve your intentions.
Sleep is key.
I talk about the importance of sleep all the time. Sleep is the root of our lives, and performing to the best of our ability. During sleep, our bodies are healing. Sleep helps support healthy brain function, gives you a better mood, and maintains physical health. We need a good 6-8 hours of sleep each night. Start here. Get into a routine of going to bed at the same time every day and waking up at the same time. You're, like, even Saturday and Sunday? Yes. It's part of our circadian rhythm. About an hour before you go to bed, start to power things down. Maybe this is when you pull a book out or write in your gratitude journal. Slow the body down and lower the lights, so your body knows it's nighty night. This is also the time to take a gummy or use a tincture with CBN. That's a natural sedative that will allow you to get the rest you need. We have so many choices available, and I've tried them. They work. This routine might take a couple of weeks, but I would stay consistent. You'll feel better and be ready to do all the things that are on that intention list.
Come on and get happy
Lawd, if you live in Western PA like myself, you understand Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). The grey skies around here will knock you down if you left them. One of the supplements I first tried sparked the idea of the store. Every morning I take Happiness which has not only CBD but 5-HTP. 5-HTP is a natural serotonin booster. i highly recommend taking it on a daily. I would also say to get the diffuser pumping with citrus in your home. We have one in our bathroom, and we'll pump lemon when we first wake up to get us going while we shower. Citrus essential oils are known to help with your mood.
Fuel the energy tank
We all sometimes fall into a little slump when it comes to energy. One of my favorites is Delta 10 or THCv. They both help boost energy, and THCv is an appetite suppressant too. These are both great to take in the AM and maybe will get you out of drinking so much coffee.
Manage the anxiety beast.
That's what I like to call it. Most people can take CBD daily, which helps them keep anxiety at bay. I call CBD tinctures liquid xanax. Depending on how bad your anxiety is, it is how many mg your dose should be. I take 25mg daily and then supplement based on whatever I'm dealing with. If you need something more potent than CBD, Delta 8 or Compliant Delta 9 would be a good option. I would look at the Hometown Hero Compliant Delta 9 and CBD mix. That gives you the best of both worlds and at low doses.
Make time to laugh
Laughter is the best medicine. No, seriously, it is. Here's an article to give you all the reasons why it can help you. I try to laugh so hard that I pee my pants (I know, TMI) once a week. I would recommend taking a D8 or Compliant D9 gummy once a week. My laugh-my-ass-off dose level is 25mg with Delta 8 and 10mg with Delta 9. I'm a lightweight. You start to chill out about an hour after taking it, and the next thing you know, you're laughing at what you're watching on TV, your partner, and anything that comes into your eyesight. It's a good time, and we NEED THAT!
Here's my cheat sheet on what we talked about above.
- Establish a sleep routine - use CBN to help maintain it.
- Everyday use products like 5-HTP to boost your serotonin levels
- Add lemon or citrus essential oils to boost your mood
- Practice gratitude daily with the 5-minute journal
- Tame the anxiety with daily CBD doses
- Energy slumps during the day can be combatted with D10 or THCv
- Get to laughing - schedule a night or a day that all you do is laugh your butt off (I'm a big fan of using D8 for this)
